BHAG Brainstorming Icebreaker

Welcome, Fellows and FPOs!

Today, we embark on a journey to foster robust partnerships and adopt a growth mindset through our "Big Hairy Audacious Goal" (BHAG) brainstorming session.

1. What is a BHAG?

A BHAG, or Big Hairy Audacious Goal, is a concept popularized in the business world to describe a long-term, visionary goal that is more strategic and emotionally compelling. It's meant to inspire and challenge teams to achieve extraordinary results by thinking beyond the realm of current possibilities.

  • In Entrepreneurship: BHAGs push entrepreneurs to envision far-reaching outcomes for their ventures, driving innovation and perseverance.

  • For Our Activity: Each group will create a BHAG that reflects a groundbreaking project idea, leveraging your diverse skills and backgrounds.

2. Ice Breaker Activity: BHAG Brainstorming

Objective: Formulate a BHAG for a hypothetical project that showcases the power of our combined expertise.

  • Teams: Participants will be divided into three mixed teams, blending Fellows and FPOs to enrich the brainstorming with diverse perspectives.

  • Task: Discuss and decide on a BHAG that your group is passionate about. Think big—your goal should push the limits of what seems achievable.

3. Group Discussion & Reflection Guidelines

Delving Into Your BHAG:

  • Discuss the Steps: Outline the major steps your team would need to take to make your BHAG a reality.

  • Identify Challenges: Consider potential obstacles and how your group's collective skills can overcome them.

  • Envision the Impact: Reflect on the broader impact achieving your BHAG would have on society or your target audience.

Guiding Questions for Reflection:

  • How do our diverse backgrounds and experiences contribute to achieving our BHAG?

  • In what ways does our BHAG push us to adopt a growth mindset?

  • How can the process of working towards this BHAG foster stronger partnerships among us?

Wrap-Up:

  • Each team will briefly share their BHAG and insights from the discussion.

  • We'll reflect on the importance of aiming high and working collaboratively towards transformative goals.
